| Mrs. Chamberlin is a life-long resident of Maine. She grew up in Bingham
and graduated from Valley High School in 1974. In 1978 she graduated from
the University of Maine at Orono receiving a BS in Home Economics. Mrs.
Chamberlin has spent her entire career as an educator in MSAD #50 starting
as a teacher at Georges Valley High School, then transferring after
four years to teach at Thomaston Grammar School . In 1982 she received
a Masters degree in Education from the University of Southern Maine
and in 1985 was certified to become a principal and after a superintendent internship in the fall of 2001 Mrs. Chamberlin received her superintendent certification. Mrs. Chamberlin
has been the principal of Lura Libby since September 1992, and of Cushing
Community School since July 1994. In 1999, Mrs. Chamberlin was honored
as Maine's National Distinguished Principal. In October of 1999 she
represented all Maine principals K-8 at the National Distinguished Elementary
School Principal award ceremony held in Washington, D.C. She is involved
in many educational organizations. She attributes the success of her schools
to the supportive staff at both schools and the wonderful students
whose families are interested in the educational proccess so all can work
together toward our district mission which is "Excellence in Education.".
Mrs. Chamberlin is married to Paul, and they have two children. They are residents of Thomaston and are active in the community. Her hobbies are cooking, reading, and participating with her family in outdoor activities including skiing, hiking and gardening. |
