FAMILY AND SCHOOL CONNECTION
by Mrs. Chamberlin
Principal of Lura Libby and Cushing Community Schools

Summer is a great time to keep learning in a different setting other than the schoolroom.  Even though children are not in school, their education does not need to stop.  Here are some tips to keep summer learning fun.
  • Daily reading should be part of every family’s routine
  • Reinforce science skills by discovering nature
  • Play board games or cards
  • Do kitchen chemistry by cooking
  • Practice math skills with dominos
  • Explore colors by painting
  • Engage in sports, swim, go camping, play kickball, go to a baseball game
  • Investigate your backyard
  • Discover the night sky

Lastly, spend time with your children and enjoy it!
