FAMILY AND SCHOOL CONNECTION
by Mrs. Chamberlin
Principal of Lura Libby and Cushing Community Schools

Read the book Stone Soup by Marcia Brown to your family. This folktale tells a great story about how all the villagers came together and helped three soldiers make a delicious soup with a stone as the starter. After you read the story, plan a stone soup party. Invite another family or two over for a “Cabin Fever Reliever” and make soup together. Have everyone bring a vegetable to put in the pot along with the stone. While the soup is simmering, play some games. Then enjoy a delicious meal together. Here is a great biscuit recipe which makes scrumptious biscuits that everyone will devour hot out of the oven!
