A great, easy way to get together with another family is invite them to brunch. A brunch can be an easy meal to put together and to have the children help. The children can decorate paper placemats, make place cards, set the table and help plan activities for after the meal. Here is a delicious, make-ahead French toast recipe. |
Maine Blueberry French Toast 6 large eggs Mix eggs, sugar, nutmeg, juice, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Place bread slices in a single layer in a 13-by-9-inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread, turning each slice to make sure each slice is well covered. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, heat oven to 400 degrees and melt butter in a 15-by-10-inch baking pan. Place egg-saturated bread slices in pan and bake for 10 minutes. Turn slices, sprinkle blueberries on top and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Sift powdered sugar over French toast and berries before serving. Yields 13 to 15 pieces, depending on loaf size |
