Gingerbread
Ingredients:

1/2 cup soft or melted butter

3/4 cup blackstrap molasses

3/4 cup honey

1 egg
-
1 2/3 cup buttermilk

3 3/4 cup whole wheat flour

1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

3 teaspoons (or 1 Tablespoon) powdered ginger

3/4 teaspoons salt
To make:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 9” x 13” baking pan.

In a bowl, mix butter, molasses, and honey.

Beat in egg. Stir in buttermilk.

Sift the dry ingredients into another bowl.

Mix together the wet and dry ingredients.
-
Turn the batter out into the greased pan and spread it smooth.

Bake for 40 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

Cut into squares and serve.
