Little Leavened Loaves 
(we made these loaves for the Harvest Festival)

ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter 
  • 6 cups milk 
  • 2 tbsp yeast 
  • 1 cup honey 
  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds (raw) 
  • 2 tbsp oats 
  • 1/2 cup millet (ground) 
  • 1 2 cup flour (6 cups organic white bread flour &  6 cups whole wheat
  • bread flour) 
  • 2 tbsp salt 
to make: 
  • Prepare yeast - put 1 tsp honey in small bowl with warm water. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it rise. 
  • Chop butter into pieces in large bowl. 
  • Add warm milk and stir until butter melts. 
  • Add honey. 
  • Add yeast and stir. 
  • Add all the flour (sifted) and stir. 
  • Knead until elastic. 
  • Form into little shapes of your choice. 
  • Let the loaves rise about 1/2 hour. 
Bake at 350'F until they sound hollow when thumped.
