Super Star-shaped Strawberry Scones  

Ingredients: 

  • 3 cups whole-wheat pastry flour  
  • 1 cup all purpose flour  
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder  
  • ½ teaspoon salt  
  • ½ cup raw sugar  
  • 1 stick butter  
  • 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped  
  • ¾ cups cold milk  
To make:  
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  
  • Combine dry ingredients.  
  • Cut in butter until mixture is coarse and crumbly.  
  • Stir in strawberries.  
  • Add milk and stir until just combined.  
  • Knead very lightly.  
  • Pat dough flat to about ½ inch thickness and cut into star shapes using cookie cutters.  
  • Place on an oiled cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until very lightly browned.  
  • Best when eaten warm from the oven.  


Makes about 3-dozen.
