I have always loved working
with children – babysitting, coaching rec. teams, summer camp,
etc. I grew up with a big family (four sisters, one brother), so
being around a lot of children is just natural to me. I am very
active and enjoy soccer, track & field and long walks in beautiful
places. I also love books and reading. My most important job this
year will be teaching my students to read and to enjoy reading.
On a personal note, I grew up in Rockland, but I am not a “native”
Mainer. I graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester,
MA with a B.A. in English.
“I am very happy to be teaching at Cushing
Community School. At Holy Cross I also studied French, participated
in track & field and volunteered for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
I worked in the radio business (behind the scenes) before making
the switch to education. I am newly married and live in Rockport
with my husband, David. If there’s anything else you would
like to know, please ask. Really! My door is always open, and I
welcome your phone calls."
