Owls Head Light
by: Amber

The name of my lighthouse is Owls Head Light. My lighthouse is in Owls Head, Maine. It was built in 1825. It was built out of bricks. It is 30 feet tall. My lighthouse signal is a fixed white light. Fixed white means the light is on all the time. The fog signal blasts twice every 20 seconds.

Now I’m writing about what makes my lighthouse special. Nobody is quite sure how Owls Head got its name. I think there were a lot of owls on Owls Head and that’s where the lighthouse got its name.

I’m writing about what it would be like living in a lighthouse. I would be happy if I lived in a lighthouse. I would be lonely if I lived in a lighthouse. I would polish the light. I would light the lamps. I would trim the wicks. I would fill the lights with oil.
