Marshall Point Light
by: Matthew

Marshall Point Light is my lighthouse. My lighthouse is in Port Clyde, Maine. When it was built, it was built in 1857. It is made out of granite and brick. It is 31 feet in the sky. It has a fixed white light, which means the light is always on. The lighthouse’s fog signal does one blast every ten seconds.

Do you want to know what’s special about my lighthouse? Here’s what I learned. The first lighthouse had seven lard oil lamps and 14-inch reflectors. It was in the movie Forrest Gump.

Here are the things that I would do to take care of my lighthouse. I would take care of the lighthouse by washing the lamps and scraping the ice off the windows. Every night I would check the lamps. Every day I would make breakfast, lunch and dinner and take care of my lighthouse. I would watch out for storms.
