Fort Point Light
by: Athena

My lighthouse is Fort Point Light. It is built in Stockton Springs, Maine and it was made in 1857. It is made out of brick. It is 31 feet tall. My lighthouse has a fixed, white light signal. Fixed white means it never blinks. My fog signal blasts once every ten seconds.

This is what makes my lighthouse special. The original tower, house, bell tower, and barn are still standing. The pyramid bell tower is one of the few left in New England. Fort Point Lighthouse is a square tower on the outside and round inside.

I would take care of my lighthouse every day. I would fill the lights with oil. I would rescue people and keep the lights working by trimming the wicks. Then we turn the lights on and we look in the logbook. I save the chickens and I help Dad clean the windows and then help Mom watch over the lights.
