Rockland Breakwater Light
by: Gavin

You are reading about my lighthouse named Rockland Breakwater Light. My lighthouse is in Rockland, Maine. It was built in 1902. It was made out of wood and bricks. My lighthouse is 25 feet tall. Every five seconds the light flashes white. My fog signal has one blast every 15 seconds.

I’m going to tell about what makes my lighthouse special. It cost more than $750,000 to build.

I’m going to tell you what it would be like to live in a lighthouse. I would polish windows and the light. I would have to scrape ice off the glass and windows, fill the lights with oil. I would not like to live in a lighthouse. Some people die. There is not much food. Some people get sick. Some people get cancer.
