The second graders are doing research on the planets.  To find our information, we are using
1. The World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia
2. Books about the planets
3. The KidsClick! search engine (http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/KidsClick!/)
With KidsClick! we can search by keyword, by letter, or by subject.  We are searching by subject and looking for web sites that have a 3-6 reading level.
 4. Web sites

When we start a research project, we talk about the questions we need to ask and the answers we need to find in order to write a good paper.   These are some of the questions we will want to ask ourselves:

1. How big is my planet?
2. What is my planet made of?
3. How many miles from the sun is my planet?
4. Does my planet have moons?  How many?
5. How long does it take my planet to go around the sun?
6. Is it hot or cold on my planet?
7. Can I see my planet with my own eyes?  Can I see it with a telescope?
8. What is an interesting fact about my planet?
