Typing Your Works Cited (also called Bibliography)

Bibliographies are always typed in alphabetical order by the author’s last name and/or the first word of the title.

1. To type a bibliography, go to Microsoft Word and open a new file.

2. Make sure you are using Times New Roman for your font style and 12 for your font size. Single space.

3. At the top of the page, click on the “center align” button. Type the title, “Works Cited” or “Bibliography”. Press enter twice.

4. Click on the “left align” button. Start typing your first citation. When you get to the end of the first line, press enter, then press tab. Finish typing your citation, making sure that every line after the first is indented.

5. Press enter twice.

6. Type your second citation.

7. Continue typing citations, double spacing between each citation, until you are done.

8. Save your bibliography to your folder. Make sure you give it a different name, for example, Anthonybiblio.
