In this lesson we looked at and discussed the work and life of the artist Henry Matisse. We talked about how Henry Matisse used cut outs of different free form shapes. The students looked at and discussed the piece title Jazz_Icarus. We talked about how the image looks like it is dancing and that the red spot on what could be the chest could represent his/her heart beating. The bright yellow free form shapes could represent the sound of music.
