| Fourth graders at Lura Libby School learned
about elections by campaigning for this year's Chickadee books. Students
made campaign posters for the book they selected. The posters were
displayed in the school hallways, and some classes took walking tours to
examine the posters before they voted. To see larger pictures of
the posters below, click on the title.
In addition, students paired up to make campaign
commercials for their favorite book. The commercials were taped,
edited, and played in the cafeteria during lunchtime the week of the voting.
On election day, the fourth graders collected
and counted the ballots. At LLS, Jungle Drums by Graeme
Base was the winner. |
