Bette Graham was born on March 23, 1924. Bette was white. She became rich after selling her invention, Liquid Paper. She was born to Jesse and Christine McMurry. After dropping out of school because she did not like it, Bette earned her high school diploma while working as a secretary. Bette was an artist and then was a secretary. She liked art. Bette got married to Warren Nesmith and had a son named Michael Nesmith. Her son Michael was in the singing group the Monkeys. Her husband died in World War 2 so she was a single mother. Bette invented Liquid Paper. She invented liquid paper in 1956. She made her invention in her kitchen. Bette made liquid paper to cover up typewriter mistakes. Bette made Liquid Paper by putting all of her ingredients into her kitchen blender. Bette's son and his friends were filling bottles for her, a lot of bottles in her kitchen. Bette did eventually get a patent for Liquid Paper. She became rich after selling Liquid Paper. A company bought Liquid Paper. That company was the Gillette Corporation. Liquid Paper was originally called Mistake Out. Bette is not alive anymore; she died on May 12, 1980. She died six months after she sold her company. Bette passed her foundation and money on to her son. |
