Kindergarten and 1st grade students at CCS have been exploring the many possibilities of hula hoops. Much laughter, joy, and learning fill the gym as imaginations turn hoops into a variety of objects.
Kids pretend to jump in and out of the "swimming pool" - a hoop on the floor. They perform circus acts with their magical hula hoop ring. At times the hoop becomes a pet or a wheel as it walks/rolls along the floor. Then, all of a sudden, "start your engines" as the hula hoop turns into a Nascar and kids race around the track. "Look out!" The evil spaceship driver is chasing you in their spaceship hoop..better known as "Spaceship Tag." Hula hoops may become an art form. Six hoops balanced properly make a "hula hut." Hoops - the sky's the limit!
