Black Bears
By Breanna

My mammal is the Black Bear.  The black bear weighs 260-330 pounds.  My mammal's height is 4-6 ft. My mammal has short fur. Its fur can be white, brown, and blue as well as black. The bear moves on four legs. The bear can smell his food from 1 or more miles away. The female bear has one cub when she is young and 3 to 4 cubs when she gets older.  The mother bear cares for her cubs for two to three years. My mammal can live to be 30 years old. The bear protects itself by using his sharp claws and his big teeth. My mammal eats ants, mice, ground berries, nuts, garbage, and fish. The bear has few enemies. Their enemies are a pack of wild dogs and man. My mammal lives in the woods, wetlands, and swamps. They live in caves, big dens that are found in hillsides, or hollow logs.  Bears need the forest to survive. My mammal can run up hill better than down.
I liked researching black bears because I like them.
