Skunk
By Cody S.

My mammal is the skunk. My mammal is 13 to 18 inches and 3 to 10 pounds. My mammal is black and white and has a fluffy tail. He also has a small stripe on his forehead that divides into A V shape along his back. My mammal moves slowly. Some climb up trees. My mammal lives in northern Mexico, Canada and the United states. My mammal lives in underground dens with dry leaves. Some skunks live in hollow trees and some can climb. My mammal eats grasshoppers, eggs, beetles, crickets, mice, rats and other small rodents. The skunk’s enemies are bobcats and large owls called the Great Horned Owl. My mammal stamps its feet for a warning then sprays its enemy. It sprays 12 feet 4 meters. They only have a little supply of mist. The mist from the skunk can last for days. She has 2 to 10 babies and the babies have no hair when they are born. Skunks walk in singular file behind their mother until they are 6 months. My mammal sleeps during the day and its active at night.
I think it was fun researching skunks.
