Mrs. Ford's 4th grade class in Thomaston, Maine participated in a Great E-mail Race. It involved sending e-mail letters to other 4th grades throughout the United States to learn more about their communities. This is a great Social Studies/Language Arts activity that will help students learn more about their country. It is also a great activity that allows children to become more aware of the importance of technology. The students had to use the internet to find schools around the United States. They then had to e-mail a survey they created to those schools.
