Math
Students are using Investigations, which is a hands-on approach to learning mathematics.  Students engage in activities that include problems solving, money, geometry, time and arithmetic facts.  An important component of the program involves kids explaining what they are doing and how they are doing it.  In this way kids  understand what they are doing.

 Collect 25¢

The object of the game is to collect 25¢.  Students roll the dice and take that amount in pennies.  Students exchange pennies for nickels and nickels for dimes. Later students will work up to collecting $1.00 or higher.

      Cover and Count

Students use pattern blocks to predict what shapes and how many will be   needed to cover different shapes.

Turn Over Ten

This is similar to concentration.  Students turn over cards trying to make combinations of ten.  If they make ten they write the math fact down on a piece of  paper and keep the cards.  If they go over ten they flip the cards back over    and it is the next person's turn.  The game is over when there are no more combinations of ten.  The winner is the person with the most math facts equaling ten.
