Shared Reading/Quiet Reading

During shared reading big books are used with the whole class to teach the very important concepts of print, sight words, and strategies that good readers use.

Quiet reading is when each student picks out a few books to read in a classroom spot of their choosing.  We then meet back together as a whole class and share anything new we might have learned as a reader.  We are putting those share reading lessons to practice.

When will my child read and what can I do to help?
