o Has developed some specific
print concepts
o Matches some speech sounds
with letters

o Acquire sight vocabulary
o Use a variety of ways to
identify words not known at sight
o See themselves as readers
and writers

o Continue reading aloud a
variety of children's literature
o Continue shared reading
o Activities focusing on sight
vocabulary, storytelling, and word identification strategies
