The St. George School Girls Talk Book Club started out as in informal book club in the fall of 2003 that was originally open to both boys and girls. Only six girls decided to participate and from there, we met once a month to discuss our chosen books. One fine day, our District Volunteer Coordinator at the time, Maryanne Vanasse, asked if we would like to model an existing Book Club that matched female mentors in the community to each girl in the book club.
Fall 2004
Eleven 5/6 graders and five 7/8
grade girls now participate with a individual mentor for each girl.
