The 6th grade plans to fix up an old nature trail behind the school and turn it into an amazing new one. We have a lot of work to do on this overgrown trail. See all of the students have picked an exciting spot to put on the St George Outdoor Learning Center. We hope that the community can learn more about nature after this happens.

This is a picture of the 6th graders, Alt Ed students and the teachers. Wow that luggage looks heavy. The reason why is because we are on our way to Tanglewood Youth Forestry Camp to learn more about nature and how to make a nature trail. We left in October 2004 for 3 days and 2 nights. We went to Tanglewood so that we could get some more info on how to build an outdoor learning center. All of the students were split up into different groups. Our leaders thought us how to use compasses. We would use 100 ft tape to measure out how ever many feet. See we were assigned how many feet we were suppose to measure out to find something. We also learned how to tell the difference between 2 trees.

The students played games for example, some of us got to play soccor, basketball and then we were to play games that they told us to play. Some were really fun. At meal time we were to take only what we could eat because after we had to dump the food into a waste bucket and we would see about how many cups there was. We did this so that the students would eat only what they could. The last meal we ate there was only 11/2 cups. The first night there we had s'mores and then after our stomachs were full they suprised us with a night walk. Our leaders would make us sit down every 10 ft and after 5 minutes she would come pick us up. The second night we had a awsome Talent Show. The students and teachers had lots of laughs.

This is our cabin called The Nest. It had electricity, a bath room and 3 rooms. Seven students or friends were in my cabin. We had a lot of fun. Some of our teachers played tricks on the students that were in their cabbin.

This picture is of the wonderful spot that I plan to put on the St. George Nature Trail. I think this area of land would be a good spot to put on the trial. We have writen persusive paper to the St. George Comunity so that we can have our beautiful place on our new and exciting  nature trial.
