Troll Boulder

Dear St. George Community,

Did you know that there was a nature trail behind the St. George School? Well, 6th graders are working on revising that overgrown forest to make a new nature trail. I would like to include the “troll boulder” in the new nature trail. It is a very peaceful area, that’s full of wildlife!
First, immense rocks are very fascinating. Most people find strange things made by nature neat, Such as a bending tree. I would definitely think a huge rock in the forest is neat. So the troll boulder’s size is another awesome factor.
However, if there are energetic little 7-year-olds out there, they’re bound to want to run or jump or climb on things. Some one’s going to get hurt. We have a safety issue! But we could create rules to prevent those things.
Also, there is a myth of a troll that has been passed down from person to person for a long time. It’s said that colossal stone is the troll home. (Hence the title Troll Boulder.) The troll boulder is part of the old trail I’ve known and loved since kindergarten. Other people feel the same. Is their sentimental attachment?
I have spent some time at the boulder and it’s an awesome place! Wildlife is everywhere! I herd chipmunks, birds and rustling in the distance. (That kind of freaked me out a little!) But beyond that it’s very peaceful. The troll boulder is an excellent place to experience nature and relax. Hence I believe it would be Great to have the boulder as a feature in the new nature trail. Happy Trails.

Sincerely,

Kristen
