This year the 6th grade and Alt. Ed kids are making a nature trail behind our school. We are going to include a fair amount of places where you might see wildlife, a great amount scenes, and many  beautiful places to see the marsh

Before my class started work on our nature trail we went to a Youth Forestry Camp named, Tanglewood in Lincolnville, Maine. We went from October 13-15th. Our class first arrived at Tanglewood knowing very little about nature and the environment. Our first experience at Tanglewood was carrying all our heavy luggage to our cabins. Unfortunately, my friends and I got lost on the way to our cabin and our cabin was on a cliff that was the farthest away. My friends and I got very flustered when we couldn't find our way. Finally we got to our cabin and unpacked all our heavy bags.
Then we ran down to the soccer field and played some fun active group games. Some of the group games were more for fun and some were to actualy teach us something. After that, we met all of the instructors at Tanglewood and got to know them and the other students in our group. Fortunately, we already knew almost all the people in our group except our leader of coarse. We also learned how to use compasses, how to navigate, how to plot land, and how to recycle our food.
Over the next three days we learned how to use compasses, experienced lots of fun and exiting nature and even got to go on a night walk and listen to night animals creep around. We also got fantastic food and played a game at every meal where we would try and waste as little as possible so that we would be more environmentally safe. At the end of the 3 days we made a mapping plan of the forest and a way that you could make an enviormently safe trail. We plotted it on paper and then presented it to the class. Now some of the good plans are actually being used to create a real trail at Tanglewood. Our class had lots of fun and experienced exciting adventures while we were there over the three days and I hope to do it again.
Now our class is ready to work on our nature trail and we can't wait until spring to start.

Our class also did a report on a specific tree. My tree happened to be the catalpa tree that grows in northern America. This powerpoint will tell you about the bark, the tree itself, the leafs, where it grows and lives, and much more. Below is a link that leads to a Power Point on the Catalpa tree. The PowerPoint tells you many facts and details about the catalpa tree.

Below here is a persuasive paper on why I think people would enjoy and have tons of fun on a spot in the St. George Nature Trail.
