Computing at Thomaston Grammar School

All 7th and 8th graders at TGS are assigned iBooks from the MLTI program as part of Maine’s 1 to 1 learning technology initiative. 5th and 6th graders have the shared use of 3 portable iBook labs in their classrooms. In addition all classrooms have at least one Apple or PC desktop computer.

The entire school is covered by a wireless network, a FirstClass mail system and a backup server for student and teacher files. Digital still and video cameras, scanners and projectors are available for classroom use and projects.

Computer Permission Forms:



  1. •Acceptable Use Agreement - governs student computer behavior and use

  2. •Parent Release Form- provides permission for a student to use the internet and to publish photos and work on the TGS internet site

  3. •MLTI Take Home Permission - parental permission and guidelines for students to take their iBooks home

  4. •MLTI Insurance Plan - provides for an inexpensive policy to cover accidental MLTI iBook damage that is not covered by Apple’s warranty

  5. •Personal Computer AUP - mandatory agreement for the use of non-district owned computers at TGS


  7. Oh, my gosh! Do I have to fill out

  8. all these forms?

  9. Red forms are required for all students

  10. Blue forms are for 7th & 8th graders

  11. Yellow forms are only required for special circumstances.
