MSAD # 50 Rules For Computer Use
It is very important to understand that the district computers,
both desktop and laptop, and other equipment are academic tools intended
for everyone's use. It is a privilege to use those computers and take advantage
of their capabilities. Therefore, the computers in this district
will be treated with utmost care and respect. Everyone will operate
the computer technology in a manner that will not interfere with the positive
learning experiences of other users.
-
There will be no unsupervised use of district computers in
school. We recommend that parents always supervise laptop use at home.
-
Always ask permission before using any computer, printer,
CD-ROM or related equipment, such as scanners and digital cameras.
-
Personal software (including games, programs, CD's, etc.)
will not be used on district computers. Exceptions may be made for educational
purposes under the direct supervision of a teacher.
-
Data will be saved to the school’s file server. Laptops will
save locally.
-
No changes to the physical setup and/or to the existing hardware
or software configuration will be made on district desktop computers.
Do not install software, move speakers, create passwords or sabotage the
work of others.
-
Non-educational games will not be played on district computers.
-
Students will report computer problems to their teachers.
Students should not try to repair the problem themselves.
-
No food, drinks, or "horseplay" will be allowed around district
computers.
-
Students will use MSAD #50 e-mail accounts only.
-
Students may not share laptops and passwords. Students may
not remove laptops from their carrying cases.
-
Before students receive laptops, parents must attend an orientation
meeting with their 7th grade student.
I have read the district policy and understand the rules
for computer use. I will abide by these rules. Should I violate
any of these rules, I realize that specific disciplinary action may be
taken.
