Student rules for iBook Use at School
The iBooks belong to the State of Maine and the school system. They
are on loan to you and your teachers to use as a tool for learning. You
are responsible for the care of the iBook which has been registered to
you in the Apple Asset Manager. The rules below and the SAD #50 Acceptable
Use Policy (see Handbook) will help you to care properly for your iBook.
-
iBooks must remain in their cases at all times, to protect them from damage.
-
Keep the case zipped when carrying from place to place. Don’t carry it
in your backpack.
-
Close the lid when directed by your teacher. This conserves power.
-
iBooks should be left in their charging slots during periods when they
are not in use, and at the end of every day. Your teachers will determine
when you need them.
-
Use your power plug gently to prevent damage.
-
Remember the screen is fragile; it shouldn’t be touched.
-
Other than you, only your teacher should touch your iBook.
-
Laptops can be damaged by food, drink, other liquids, debris, markers,
stickers, heat, and cold. Do not insert anything into ports or openings
that don’t belong there.
-
Use your iBook on a flat and stable surface. Do not stack anything on your
iBook.
-
You need teacher permission for: printing, airport access, charging, Internet
access, First Class e-mail and chat.
